Seasons of Cities and Mountains

It is an absolutely gorgeous day outside today and there is no Mountain Day. Very disappointing (for all you non Smithie readers, Mountain Day is an unannounced holiday in which classes are cancelled on a nice fall day. I think originally Smithies did climb mountains, but now we go apple picking, sunbathe or just catch up on homework). Hopefully it will not be next week, as fall break starts on the 8th.
Besides the lack of Mountain Day, it has been a very long week for us all, as classes are now in full swing with their essays and readings and extracurriculars have begun. I have an essay for a class due tomorrow, which I am writing about Ugly Dolls (adorable plush creatures that are amazing) from a cultural perspective.

I auditioned for Reefer Madness and was cut, which is very, very disappointing. However, despite this loss I will still be helping out with costumes (see the tab above for more info). I have a couple sketches which I will upload once I have some better photos.

My really big news is that I am going with a friend over fall break to see Newsies: The Musical at Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey!!! I'm so excited! Our seats are in the orchestra, so I'll have a great view of the costumes, sets and other marvels that await us.
